Intercity Transit is a public transportation service organized as a municipal corporation that services Lacey, Olympia, Tumwater, and Yelm, Washington, an area of approximately 94 square miles (240 km2). They claim to operate 25 bus routes, a door-to-door service for people with disabilities, a vanpool program, specialized van programs, and are active in community partnerships.

Currently, they have a fleet of 135 Fixed Route coaches, 30 Dial a Lift vans, and 200 Vanpool vans. [1] Intercity Transit maintains a free shuttle route called "Dash". Dash picks up from various places around the Capital Campus and downtown Olympia. It runs to the Farmers Market at the far edge of downtown. [2] Intercity Transit has purchased 6 new hybrid electric buses, and was one of the first transportation systems in the country to use an all biodiesel fleet. In 2009 it won an award for Americas best Public Transportation System in the mid size category by the American Public Transportation Association.
